IT is hailed as the largest country and roots festival in the Southern Hemisphere and when it comes to CMC Rocks you can be guaranteed of a never ending country party.
The sold out event attracts more than 13,000 people from across Australia who are so passionate about their country music they lined up for kilometres yesterday just to secure their patch of grass in the camping area.
With the likes of the Dixie Chicks and Little Big Town headlining the 10th Anniversary event this year, there will be no shortage of top quality music.
But who should you rush to the mosh pit for or brave the rainy weather (hopefully it doesn’t come to that) to see?
Here’s our list of the five must see acts at CMC Rocks today...
5 – Eric Paslay (7.05pm-7.45pm Second Stage)
Not only is he performer but this man is responsible for writing some of the songs we have come to know and love from top rating country music stars. The American is a GRAMMY award nominee, nominated for ACM Song of the Year and his chart-topping hit, Friday Night, is just one of the songs on his set list you won’t want to miss.

Form a line ladies! Charles Esten, better known as Deacon Claybourne from US television drama Nashville, is on our shores. Esten is in prime performing form after coming off the back of non-stop touring across North America with his television co-stars. Not only can he sing and act but he is also a songwriter and comedian.
3 – The Shires (5.30pm-6pm Second Stage)
Who said the UK wasn’t good at country? This up and coming duo are the ones to watch. Two years ago they became the highest-selling country act in the UK with five A-list singles at BBC Radio 2. They come to Australia with their brand new album, My Universe, and their song Daddy’s Little Girl is sure to bring a tear to many eyes at CMC Rocks.
2- Granger Smith (6.05pm-7.05pm Main Stage)
Granger Smith has popped into Australia in between his busy tour schedule with Luke Bryan and before that with Florida Georgia Line. His latest album, Remington, flew to No.1 in the US and his favourites like If The Boot Fits and Silverado Bench Seat are not to be missed live.
1- Kip Moore (9.55pm-11.10pm Main Stage)
He is back! After wowing crowds at last year’s sell out event, Kip Moore stuck to his promise and has returned to Australia. This man is nothing short of amazing when it comes to live performances and he knows a thing or two about a country party. Armed with his new single, More Girls Like You, and plenty of his classics like Beer Money and Something’ ‘Bout A Truck, this man is not to be missed. Not only is he a great singer but Moore has just as much talent on the dance floor and his smooth moves will once again be on the main stage of CMC Rocks.
