Brahman females topped the opening day of the annual February All Breeds Sale, CQLX, Gracemere.
Tuesday featured a full catalogue of Brahmans with 112 bulls selling to $13,000 to average $4755 clearing 70 percent of the offering.
This figure included a small 'used sire' section which topped $13,000 while the remainder of the male Brahman offering saw 106 bulls top at $12,000 on two occasions to average $4722.
However, it was a Brahman female section that provided the sale topper. Kenrol Miss Summit 2816 (AI) (H) (12-months) offered by Ken and Wendy Cole, Kenrol Stud, Gracemere sold to John and Sue Joyce, Tropical Cattle Stud, Ingham.
In all 37 females averaged $4257 to clear 91 percent of the catalogue.
Used and proven sire, the eight-year-old, FBC Becker 191/1 (H) offered by Lee and Gillian Collins, Wandilla Stud, Marlborough made $13,000 selling to Lisle Holdings, Grosvenor Park, Marlborough.
Equal at $12,000 was the sale opener, Woodstock Geronimo (P) offered by the Woodstock Stud, Mackay selling to the NK Stud, Theodore and Geneva Anthony Manso (AI) (D) offered by the Pickersgill family, Theodore selling to the Comerford family, Turrawulla, Nebo.
