LANDHOLDERS will come together in Capella in March, when the Central Highlands Regional Resources Use Planning Cooperative (CHRRUP) host the Future Food and Fibre Conference.
Held over two days on March 16 and 17, the conference will give graziers, dryland croppers and irrigators a chance to come together to discuss sustainability and the future of the industry.
CHRRUP project officer Jess Crawford said the conference will aim to have something for everyone, no matter what their involved in the industry is.
“Conference attendees will be inspired to think creatively about production, profitability and sustainability,” she said.
“The conference will give them the knowledge, tools and motivation to start planning change for the future of agriculture.”
She said the conference will be open to graziers, farmers, extension and research staff, agribusiness, agricultural consultants, and anyone else involved in the industry.
A dinner will be held on the Thursday night, with local producers serving their own produce.
A focus on diversification will be held throughout the conference, and all producers who’s food is presented will have successfully diversified their business in some way.
