Community stalwart Bill (William) McCutcheon has been recognised with an OAM for service to local government and to the community of the Western Downs.
“I am very honoured and grateful to the community for this recognition,” Mr McCutcheon said.
“Over the years, while I have prided myself on leading a good team, I was lucky enough to be working alongside a good team.”
Mr McCutcheon worked tirelessly as a foundation councillor for the Dalby Regional Council, now known as the Western Downs Regional Council from 2008 to 2012. He was also mayor of the Chinchilla Shire Council from 2000 to 2008 and a former deputy mayor and councillor since 1985. Mr McCutcheon’s other achievements include past committee member of the Chinchilla Show Society.
His name is also synonymous with all levels of polocrosse.
