BRISBANE based beef marketing company OBE Organic will target upscale restaurants around the world with high quality grassfed beef produced following drought breaking rains in the Channel Country.
OBE general manager Dalene Wray said Reserve range was a limited edition, certified organic, grassfed beef resulting from recent rain was “super juicy and tender... with an exceptional taste.”
Reserve range will be featured during the Hilton’s F&B Masters gala dinner in Brisbane tonight (January 24). Product will also feature throughout the two day event with chefs cooking with the OBE beef.
The F&B Masters is a multi-faceted competition involving Hilton staff from Australia, New Zealand and Fiji to showcase their talents to management and industry colleagues.
Ms Wray said Hilton Brisbane and its executive chef Hueman Lam were known for sourcing local, wholesome, sustainable foods.
“We’re very excited to launch our new Reserve range with a partner that values the provenance of our beef the way we do,” Ms Wray said.
“The past few months have truly been a gift from nature. Our organic properties have received a lot of rain for outback standards; that means our cattle are at their very best.”
Mr Wray said every few years the Channel Country received more than usual amounts of rain, creating one of the most spectacular natural events on the planet.
“The cattle lucky enough to experience this phenomenon are infused with its super natural goodness, from the mineral rich waters to the succulent grasses and herbs,” Ms Wray said. “And the result is a super juicy and tender beef with an exceptional taste, one that embodies a rich and nuanced blend of the bounty of the land.”
Ms Wray said while much of OBE Organic’s chilled beef was exported, the company intended to make some product available in Australia.
