A former QCL markets editor and Roma reporter, Martin has recently worked for WIN Television News and with Meat and Livestock Australia’s National Livestock Reporting Service (NLRS), producing media reports and coverage from Roma’s weekly cattle sales.
Martin spent six years in his role with the NLRS at the Roma Saleyards and said the experience taught him a lot about beef cattle markets.
“I believe the beef industry has a very bright future,” Martin said.
“In the years ahead good quality media coverage of the sector will become increasingly important to both Australian and international audiences and it is exciting to be a part of that with QCL.”
Based in Toowoomba, Martin will coordinate QCL’s stud stock sale coverage and work alongside fellow QCL senior journalists and national Fairfax beef writer, Shan Goodwin, in providing comprehensive coverage of the livestock sector for QCL readers.
QCL editor, Penelope Arthur, welcomed Martin to the team.
“Marty has certainly learned a lot in the six years he spent freelancing and working for the NLRS and those new skills and experience will really bring something extra to our coverage of markets and livestock in QCL,” she said.
