LANDHOLDERS who cannot in protest of the Palaszczuk government’s draconian new vegetation management laws tomorrow are being urged to sign an online petition to register their concern.
Opposition natural resources spokesman Andrew Cripps is urging Queenslanders to sign the e-petition opposed the Palaszczuk government's controversial new vegetation laws which were introduced to parliament on March 17.
“Since the Palaszczuk Government tried to rush the Vegetation Management (Reinstatement) and Other Legislation Amendment Bill 2016 through the Queensland Parliament, a campaign had been undertaken across the state to raise awareness about the impact of Labor’s proposed changes on the agriculture sector and regional communities,” Mr Cripps said.
“I’ve travelled extensively across Queensland, supporting the efforts of LNP MPs, local communities and industry groups such as AgForce at public forums and public rallies to explain the potential impact of Labor’s vegetation management bill on the agriculture sector, to property values, to regional jobs, to productivity and to people’s property rights.
“The scaremongering being pursued by Labor and the extreme green activist groups has the potential to mislead the community about the common sense changes made by the former LNP Government in 2013, which is why this campaign is so important and the reason why I am determined to fight Labor’s legislation tooth and nail, every inch of the way, right to the bitter end.”
Mr Cripps said Queenslanders who could not attend tomorrow’s rally in Brisbane could still send a loud and clear message to the Palaszczuk Government at the website: http://www.parliament.qld.gov.au/work-of-assembly/petitions/e-petitions.
