The inaugural Queensland Women’s Week will celebrate the achievements of women and girls across the state from March 7 – 13.

It incorporates International Women’s Day on March 8 with the theme: “Good for her. Great for us. When women achieve, Queensland succeeds.”

The week aims to promote gender equality, celebrate achievements and acknowledge the proven benefits for all when women play an equal role in business, leadership and government.

Queensland Rural Regional and Remote Women's Network (QRRRWN) will be hosting an event on the evening of March 8, at Piper Alderman, Brisbane. In Emerald a QRRRWN morning tea will commence at 10am at the Emerald Town Hall.

Queensland Country Life senior journalist Sally Cripps will be the guest speaker at the Brisbane event, where attendees to learn from her experiences as a woman on the land and rural storyteller.

Working across rural Queensland for decades, Sally has faced down gender stereotypes for years, challenged herself to be her best and shown what can be achieved when you both believe in yourself and have that all important network of support.
