THE 5786ha (14,297 acre) Central Queensland property Plattaway Station has sold at a mortgagee auction in Mackay for $5.1 million.

Located about 100km south of Nebo on the Connors and Isaac Rivers, Plattaway sold to Charters Towers district graziers John and Sally Turley.
The sale price is equal to about $881/ha ($357/acre).
The property is described as versatile cattle and farming operation with developed brigalow, belah, blackbutt and scrub country. Large areas experience periodic flooding. There is farming potential for an estimated 1200ha.
The estimated carry capacity is 2000 head.
Improvements include two homes, sheds, yards, 16 paddocks and laneways.
Plattaway was previously listed for private sale at $7.5 million in 2008.
Marketing agents Robert Mudlo and Dick Allpass from Elders handled the sale.
