Roma agents have booked 10,300 for the sale including 5350 steers, 4390 heifers, 300 cows and 260 cows and calves.
Elders Roma branch manager Keith Crouch said all agents were expecting the market to remain weak for most descriptions of cattle.
“It will be tough enough tomorrow – I hear the market was pretty tough in Toowoomba today and I’d expect that to be the case in Roma tomorrow as well,” he said.
“Initially the weaker market was just affecting plainer cattle but it’s pretty much across the board now.”
Mr Crouch said Elders staff were already busy booking cattle for next week’s Roma store sale.
“Most of our cattle have come out of those western and north western areas again,” he said.
