Tuesday’s yarding will include about 4000 steers, 2900 heifers, 700 cows and 330 cows and calves.
A feature of the yarding will be the offering of 700 mixed sex weaners from Glengraco Grazing, Yuleba.
The Hereford, Angus and Santa cross weaners and are estimated to weigh 250-350kg.
Roma Saleyards manager Terry Hyland told Queensland Country Life that all agents and vendors expected the market to remain depressed at tomorrow’s sale.
“There is a little bit of rain forecast to come through today but not a great deal and we really need a lot of rain now to make much impact on the market,” he said.
“The better quality local cattle may hold their own but the Brahman cattle and plainer types will be pretty hard to sell.”
“We are still seeing a fair number of cattle coming into Roma from those northern and western areas.”
