THE second biggest horse sport in Australia will be splashed across the big screen when the celebrated documentary, The Great Australian Campdraft will for the first time be shown in full, at the Australian Stockman's Hall of Fame's inaugural Outback Horse and Heritage Expo in Longreach next week.

While a shortened half hour version was shown on ABC TV last October, a special full-length director's cut will feature at the Moonlight Cinema on the first evening of the expo, July 25.
The "marquee on the mound" between arenas one and two will be the special bush setting for the one-hour event after the first day of campdrafting action.
The film tells the untold story of the unique Australian sport of campdrafting, which is sure to be a crowd pleaser as the audience comes face to face with venues such as the national titles at Blackall, the biggest draft in Australia at Paradise Lagoons, and on to the 'Melbourne Cup' of campdrafting, the Warwick Gold Cup.
It was made by Brisbane-based husband and wife producing and directing duo Ian Withnall and Sharen Kenny.
The have worked on some of Australia's top rating lifestyle shows, such as Burke's Backyard. They managed to incorporate early 1930s campdrafting footage into the present day action.
Sharen said the documentary included legends of the sport such as Ben and Jaye Hall, Pete Comiskey, Terry and Christine Hall, Mark Buttsworth, and Ashley McKay.
Following the screening, the audience will also have an opportunity to meet some of the stars of the campdrafting world in a Q&A session together with Sharen and Ian and a panel of key cast members.
Stockman's Hall of Fame CEO Ben Maguire said it would be a great opportunity for all in the Central West to view a great movie that was not available to the general public before now.
