IT was the recognisable grin under the tilt of the familiar brown hat on Rick Greenup that said it all at the Greenup Eidsvold Station bull sale last Friday.
And throughout the selling with continuing eye contact with wife Alice sitting in the stand, showed this popular young couple were both honoured and delighted with the support shown by both many repeat and new buyers.
The Greenup Eidsvold Station sold 81 of the 86 bulls offered, to record an average of $4833, representing 94pc clearance.
The breakdown included 50 classified S bulls selling to a top price of $15,000 to average $5390 representing 96pc clearance, while 31 herd improver bulls sold to average $3935, representing 94pc clearance.

Topping the sale at $15,000 was Greenup Carlos (P), a son of Eidsvold Station Debonair from Greenup Carla, selling to Geoff and Jason Goodland, Wightfields Stud, Wandoan.
The Goodlands were attracted to the bull for a number of reasons including the fact he carried double polled genetics, his overall mobility and weight for age, and that he would give a genetic outcross when joined over stud females.
Paying $12,000 for Eidsvold Station Harley H534 (P) was Shaun and Jo McGuigan, Cree Pastoral, Thangool.
Eidsvold Station Harley is an impressive bull with a strong sirey head, and great clean coat which impressed the McGuigans, and will be used by them over their stud heifers.
The Hatton family, Santahat Stud, Eidsvold, paid $10,000, and selected Eidsvold Station Harvey H102 (P), a son of Greenup Bayonet.
Eidsvold Station Harvey (P) entered the ring weighing 759kg and EMA of 121sq cm, and a 40cm scrotal circumference.
He will be used over the Santahat Stud heifers, and was selected due to his overall softness, correct structure, and solid Breedplan figures.

He very much appealed to Mr Howard due to his fine tropical coat, and breed character, and will be used over Santa Gertrudis females in his commercial herd.
The Bridle family, Boningar, Meandarra, also paid to $9000 for Greenup Echidna H108 (P), who is the first son of Greenup Echinda E253 (P) to be offered for sale.
