Landmark Dalby agent Simon Booth said given the current circumstances, the yarding was satisfactory.
“We’ve had 8-24mm of rain in the local area so that’s given the restockers a little bit of confidence,” he said.
“The market has been a little bit back on the past week being unable to sustain the recent rise.
“Best bullocks to 183c/kg, runs of feeders to 178c and cows are at 140c at this stage.”
Meat and Livestock Australia's National Livestock Reporting Service reported the slight increase in numbers contained larger runs of poor condition lines.
Prices for heavy yearling steers to feed averaged 4c to 8c/kg dearer, while yearling heifers to the trade lost ground in price.
Heavy grown steers and bullocks sold to a market 7c to 9c cheaper.
Cows experienced a mixed trend, with medium-weight two scores firm, while the remainder of the cows could not maintain the improved prices experienced at the previous sale.
