CATTLE producers with large commercial herds bought 73 of the 92 bulls sold at the annual NCC Brahman Sale at Inverrio Station, Duaringa, on Tuesday, and that’s a trend stud principal Brett Nobbs would like to continue.
Recognising quality, repeat buyer and Collinsville beef producer, Gavin Scott, paid $32,000 to top the sale with the purchase of a grey bull, NCC Empire that he described as the best bull in the yard.
NCC Empire is a 32 month-old son of the renowned imported sire, JDH Mr Elmo Manso, and was one of 45 Elmo sons sold at the sale to average $9500.
Weighing in at 878kg, the bull scored 14 and 9 in P8 and rib fat scans respectively.
Mr Scott also paid $18,000 for the top priced red sire, another Elmo son, NCC Sloane (IVF).
Equalling the top price of $32,000, FBC Dynasty Manso 536/1(AI), sold to stud principals, Stewart, Stephanie and Tom Nobbs, Yoman Brahmans, Springsure.
