A BLONDE riding a grey won the ladies draft at the annual Marlborough campdrafting.

Kellie McLean, Stratton Station, Roma, combined with her 11-year-old grey mare, Doon to win the Cattle King Agricultural Services Ladies campdraft from a field of 51 riders.

The winning combination have been competing for six years and recently won the ladies event at St George.
Visiting family in the area, Mrs McLean, her husband, Bill and their young son, Charlie worked their trip around the local campdraft and certainly made their presence felt.
Paul Allgood, Leitrim, Marlborough was another happy camper, winning the Maiden draft with Gemma and the Novice event astride Billy Bob.
By Myall Springs Omar, out of Mt Hope Liner, Billy Bob is an absolute allrounder, competing with Mr Allgood’s daughter, Rachel and winning the Juvenile at Duaringa this year and placing third at Clarke Creek.
The Rea family were well represented with Wally Rea and Raps Ellie winning the Peter Atkinson memorial restricted open draft.
Mr Rea also placed second with Revlon in the same event while his son, Billy-Joe combined with Cooinda Knights Eve to win the Brian Rath memorial Open event.
By Knights Reverend and out of Lilly’s Expression, the 10 year old mare is a granddaughter of Comara Expression (drafted as Impression), the 1986 Australian Campdrafting Association champion Novice horse.
Judges on the weekend were Peter and Toni O’Neil, Glenyarran, Springsure, Ian McCartney, Roselea Station, Marlborough and Don Sivyer,Bar H Station,Ogmore.
