The 35-month-old, two tooth, grey, Lancefield Randolph son, Elrose Randall sold for $12,500 to claim top price at the sale and was purchased by Barry and Bev Hannam, Batandra Brahmans, Milman, who were looking for a good even, polled bull.

“He’s got plenty of conformation,” Mr Hannam said.

Randall scored 19 and 14 in P8 and rib fat and at 140sq cm, measured the largest eye muscle area in the catalogue.

The Elrose draft included the $10,000 sale of Elrose Sir Allan, a 29-month-old, JDH Sir Alamo Manso son.

The bull was purchased by David Roberts, Swans Lagoon, Millaroo.

Brian and Glenda Kirkwood, Somerview Brahmans, Charters Towers sold the 32-month-old, top priced herd and red bull, Somerview Justin to Yvonne Cox, Belmore Station, Collinsville.

Mrs Cox attended the sale with her property manager, Colin Becker.

Younger bulls generally weren't popular however Shane and Kylie Stretton, Northern Livestock Services, Charters Towers, bucked the trend and selected a 23-month-old, FBC D Roper Manso son for $8500.

The couple took home the milk tooth, Glenborough Roy Manso along with the $5000, 26-month-old Glenborough Jetstar Manso.

Both bulls were listed by Lance and Karen Pope, Yabulu (north of Townsville).

Jim and Bonnie Besley, Bungarribee Brahmans, Barmoya sold the 34-month-old, Bungarribee Finnegan to Yvonne Cox, Collinsville for $7000.

Mrs Cox purchased five red bulls in total at the sale for the average price of $5300.

Grey buyers, Peter Pemble and family, Hann Creek Trust, Myrlumbing Station, Charters Towers,paid the average price of $2875 for four bulls.

David Roberts, Swans Lagoon, Millaroo, selected four Elrose bulls for the average price of $5500.

A total of 45 grey bulls averaged $3583 while 42 red sires averaged $3976.
