A TOP price of $30,000 was achieved at the 46th annual Cootharaba Hereford sale, held by Ian and Anne Galloway, on property at Duarran, near Roma, last Thursday.
Overall the sale resulted with 32 bulls selling to average $5469, representing an 80 per cent clearance.
The sale topper was Cootharaba Uluru, a 31-month-old son of Glendan Park Empire from the noted Cootharaba Pauline female family.
He entered the sale ring with a weight of 1215kg, an EMA of 142sq cm, impressive fat scans of 26mm/14mm and a scrotal circumference of 46cm, and bought by Dudley Graham, Compton Herefords, Tooma, NSW.
A price tag of $10,000 was achieved on three occasions.
Selling at that money was Cootharaba Ungra J019, a son of Devon Court Haymaker from the Cootharaba Gay Dawn female family, and was bought by commercial producers Hartnell and Connolly, Homebush, Mitchell.
Also selling with a $10,000 price tag was Cootharaba Ultimo, again by Glendan Park Empire, selling to Robyn and Tom Nixon, Devon Court Herefords, Drillham.
Commercial producers Russell and Amada Hay, Nurragi, Taroom, also outlaid the same money for Cootharaba Umbrian, another son of Glendan Park Empire.
Stud principal Ian Galloway said he was very pleased by the results from the top end of the catalogue.
