IT was a case of footy meets fashion and fun, as over 180 of the Dalby Wheatmen's strong band of female supporters enjoyed an exclusive afternoon of champagne and canapés at the annual Rugby Union ladies day on June 13.
Organising committee member Caetlyn Teakle said the Rugby Ladies' Day had become a major highlight on the local social calendar with attendance increasing every year.
"We've been attracting a big crowd for Ladies Day because we've built a reputation for a great afternoon out," Caetlyn said.
"It's not just the regular rugby women who come along, but we now draw from the broader community.
"It's a chance to see some rugby action in style."

Caetlyn said creating a different theme each year kept the event fresh and interesting.
This year's 'Polka dots and Pearls' theme did not disappoint, with the guests frocking up in an array of spots and accessories while being waited on by Wheatmen players and coaches.
"It was great to see all the different interpretations of the theme resulting in a colourful sea of fashion on the deck. Elizabeth Carter took out the best dressed prize which was kindly donated by Jodie Allen of Cynergi Hair Studio," Caetlyn said.
The ladies-only deck provided the perfect vantage point to sip beverages and enjoy delicious canapés while watching the Dalby C, B and A grade teams take on the Toowoomba Bears.
Convincing wins in C and B grade had the spectators' spirits soaring high, while the A Grade clash proved to be more competitive challenge resulting in a nail-biting 20-20 draw.
After the football was finished, the deck was buzzing with live music and dancing until late into the evening.
Caetlyn said the market stalls also added to the day.
"Not only did the ladies eat and drink, watch footy and enjoy the music, but they could shop too."
This year's stalls included Sunshine & Raindrops, Crazy Succulent Lady, Off the Shelf, Lady & The Fox, Arbonne, Bella Lido, Tiny Dancer and Monkey and Frog.
Caetlyn thanked the other members of her organising committee Ang Stirling, Emma Carr-Lord, and Lacey Graham, all the Wheatmen waiters, and Chas Graham and Sam Carr-Lord who helped set up.
