BULLS sold to a top of $12,000 at the Becker family’s Jarrah Genetics Sale on Monday.
Held on property at Glenarchy, Banana, the Helmsman auction included 27 Modern Herefords and 33 Jarrah Reds. The Modern Herefords averaged $6333, while the Jarrah Reds averaged $4481.
Sale topper was Jarrah Odyssey M125, a 24-month-old scur Hereford bull, which sold to Billy, Louise and Lawson Dunne, Tarcoola Cattle Company, Dingo.
The poll Jarrah Redford went to Alex Sparkes, Hornet Bank, Taroom, for $9000.
Tim and Kath Dunne, Wooroona, Duaringa, paid $8500 for another Jarrah Redford poll Hereford. The Dunnes bought seven on the day, including Jarrah Odyssey M168 for $8000.
The Hartwig family, Eidsvold, paid $8500 and $7500 for two Jarrah Anzac scur bulls.
Brendan and Fiona Kemp, Carramah, Capella, bought five including two Jarrah Anzac scur bulls for $8000 and $7000.
John and Susan Enright, Bottle Tree Camp, Blackwater, took home the Hereford scur Courallie Game Day for $7500.
A total of 27 of the 33 Jarrah Reds offered sold for an average price of $4500.
Top price was $6500, paid by Catriona and Kevin Pearce, Bannockburn, Mornish, for Jarrah 471, a 23-month-old horned bull.
Jarrah 436 (P) sold for $6000 to Norman and Desley Becker, Paranui, Moura.
Volume buyer was Calliope Cattle Company with nine Jarrah Reds. Liveringa Station, Derby, WA, bought four as did Phil Reid and family, Paringa, Capella.
