DUARINGA property Kensleigh sold under the hammer for $3.4 million at an auction in Rockhampton on September 14.
A large crowd gathered in the Rockhampton Leagues Club to watch Hourn and Bishop Qld, auctioneer Brad Passfield sell Barry and Claire Hoare’s property down under the hammer for the equivalent of $3148/ha ($1274 acre).
Kensleigh covers 1080 hectares (2669 acres) of freehold country located 95km west of Rockhampton and 15km east of Duaringa. The property has more than 3km of Dawson River frontage and is watered by three large permanent lagoons and two dams.
Kensleigh is mostly brigalow/softwood and brigalow/coolabah country running down to sandy river loam along the river. About 800ha were pulled in 2015.
Most of the internal fencing is in good condition and the boundary ranges from good to stock proof. A laneway leads to a set of steel and timber cattle yards.
There is a high set three bedroom home, two sheds, stables and a small second set of cattle yards.
The Hoares have also recently sold their other property Spring Hill at Duaringa and are looking to scale up to a larger enterprise in the central or central western area.
Selling agents were Gary Bishop and John Crerar, Hourn and Bishop Qld.
