Numbers lifted by close to 20 per cent, with a yarding of 5309 at Dalby on Wednesday. The usual panel of buyers were in attendance and most were operating in a generally cheaper market.
Medium weight yearling steers to feed lost 20c and heavy weight yearling steers to feed averaged 3c cheaper. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed also lost 20c and virtually no good bullocks were penned. A larger selection of cows sold to a market 3c to 9c cheaper with the restockers the least affected.
Light weight yearling steers made from 290c to 334.2c and averaged 305.1c. Medium weight yearling heifers sold from 270c to 290c and averaged 274.6c.
Grown steers in the 400-500kg range made from 240c to 289.2c and averaged 254.7c with the grown heifers under 540kg making from 214.2c to 228.2c and averaging 219.5c. Medium weight cows to restockers made from 196.2c to 226.2c and averaged 215.2c. The best bull made 295.2c.
