THE Rockhampton Agricultural Show Society is busy preparing to present its 144th show.
With a renewed focus on agriculture the show is an amazing canvas for the local community to showcase its talents and produce.
The introduction of the “Agsperts trail” will mean more interactive things for the kids all agriculturally based to experience.
The Rockhampton Show is run by a management team of volunteers who work tirelessly throughout the year to produce the event. Without the continued support of the local community its sponsors, some who have been associated with the show for many years, the event would not be able to be held.
This year there will be further improvements, including an international troupe performing at the event.
On to of that there will be racing pigs, virtual reality educational shows, kids cooking classes, the RSPCA Emu Van, explosive science experiments, fun kids activities and workshops with The Kangagang. For the first time at the show there will be a V8 simulator where you can race your mates against the clock around the Mt Panorama. Friday night will see solo bikes and sidecars entertain the crowds along with some additional fireworks.
Thursday is People’s Day and there will be a huge range of things for people to see and do, with a fireworks finale to end the evening. For the first time there will be an opportunity to rub shoulders with the stars of the Centre Ring, with everyone encouraged to get a poster, autograph or selfie with the stars.
From young to old there is something for everyone at the 2017 Rockhampton Agricultural Show.
