IT seems broad ribbons have a habit of finding a home with the Brumpton Family of Mount Ascot and Jolly Jumbuck Merino studs in Mitchell.
After children Felicity, Charlie and Lachie Brumpton won the Grand Champion All Purpose Merino with a ram known as Jolly Jumbuck Thumper at the Queensland State Sheep Show on Friday, the good fortunes continued for the family on day two of judging.

Mount Ascot Bill was also in the Brumpton Family’s winning Queensland Champion Pair which together will now travel to Bendigo in July for the National final.
In the ewe class it was the Roberts Family, Victoria Downs, Morven who took out both the Queensland Junior Ewe of the Year and Queensland Ewe of the Year.
The Supreme Exhibit of the Show was awarded to a poll ram from Chris Clonan, Alfoxton Merino Stud, Armidale who claimed all four Grand Championships on the day; Grand Champion Merino Ram, Merino Ewe, Poll Ram and Poll Ewe.
