Numbers increased this week to see a yarding of 578 head of generally mixed quality cattle at Tenterfield on April 24. The larger yarding of steers received strong competition with the heavier types selling to 362.2 cents and some very good lines featured.
Cows were firm with heavy cows selling to 245c, medium weights to 235c while light cows averaged 250c. The improved yarding of heifers sold to 331.2c to average $1195.07.
Spirited competition in the trade section saw the best of the steer calves return to the paddock for 450.2c while heifers sold to a top of 370.2c.
A larger yarding of bulls sold for 277.2c.
