The quality lines of in-calf females drew a large crowd of prospective buyers in the rain affected 1080 head yarding. Monte Cassino Pastoral Co of Kilcoy sold 130 Droughtmaster and Droughtmaster/Angus-cross cows. Droughtmaster-cross PTIC cows sold for $1500 and $1470. Droughtmaster Angus PTIC cows sold for $1470. Then empty Droughtmaster cows sold for $1070 and Angus-cross at $1260. PTIC Charolais-cross heifers from Maxjet Pty Ltd sold for $1380.
Michael Baker, Chess Park, Eidsvold, sent 200 Droughtmaster-cross cows and cows and calves to Toogoolawah and was well rewarded with cows and calves at $1790, $1690 and $1580. PTIC cows at $1350 and $1210. Glensomerset Trust sold Charolais-cross cows and calves at $1460 and $1420. Ron Dunning sold Droughtmaster-cross cows and calves at $1540. Paul Comiskey sold Charolais-cross cows and calves at $1860.
Also generating plenty of interest were feeder steers from Russell Titmarsh, Bryden, which sold to $1545. Brian Loveland sold Droughtmaster-cross feeder steers for $1545. Harvey and Clarke sold Droughtmaster feeders for $1485 and $1410. John and Patsy O’Shea, Blenheim, sold outstanding 18 month old Charolais-cross steers for $1385 and quality weaner Charolais-cross steers for $1150 and $1145. Two Tons Pastoral Co of Harlin sold Droughtmaster steers 18 months for $1310.
G&R Smith, Kilcoy, sold Droughtmaster steers aged 16-18 months for $1180. Darren Latimer, Monsildale, sold Brahman-cross steers 16 months for $1140 and Charolais-cross steers for $1095. Ron Dunning sold Limousin-cross steers for $1075. Glenn and Carol Beanland sold Charolais-cross steers 14 months for $1135.
