A fair number of stock were penned at Dalby after the four-week break, with a yarding of 3431 on Wednesday.
A large panel of export buyers was present, however not all were all operating and most of the regular feeder operators were in attendance and active in the market.
Yearling steers and heifers to feed met solid demand. The younger end of the heavy grown steers to export slaughter received a premium, while the remainder experienced little change in price. Good heavy cows dominated the cow section and all classes sold to strong competition.
Medium weight yearling steers to feed made to 360.2c/kg. Heavy weight yearling heifers were well supplied and made to 321.2c.
Grown medium weight steers made from 280.2c to 315.2c. Heavy cows made to 251.2c and averaged 247.9c. Heavy bulls made to 284.2c.
