There was a small decline in numbers, with 5633 cattle yarded at Dalby this week and overall quality was fairly good. The usual export and feeder buyers were in attendance and operating in a firm to dearer market. Medium to heavy weight yearling steers to feed sold to very solid demand. Yearling heifers to feed improved by 9c/kg. Heavy grown steers to export slaughter averaged 17c dearer and cows lifted in price by 10c to 15c.
Medium weight yearling steers made from 336.2c to 370c to average 353.7c with heavy weights making from 320c to 351.2c and averaging 337.1c. Medium weight yearling heifers to feed made from 334c to 343.2c and averaged 339.3c.
Heavy grown steers were up 17c and made from 293.2c to 322.2c to average 316.5c. Heavy grown heifers averaged 272.2c with heavy D4 cows making from 245.2c to 268.2c and averaging 255.8c. The best bull made 380c.
