Charbray yearling steers 370.2c at Silverdale


There were 868 cattle yarded at Silverdale last week, where Charbray yearling steers sold for 370.2c.


Another top-quality yarding of 868 head came together at the Hayes & Co, Silverdale sale on November 23.

The market was fully firm to dearer for all descriptions and all buyers were operating as well as a handful of new buyers. One buyer purchased more than 200 head which all went to feedlots, paddocks and abattoirs in clean country.

ID & AME Burgess sold Brahman cows for 254.2c to return $1487.  Friesian dairy culls from Mahrongi Partnership sold for 231.2c to return $1480. 

SD & ME Cahill sold a Droughtmaster bull for 245.2c to return $1949.  SA Clarke sold Simbrah pasture ox for 338.2c to return $1759.  Carrington Partnership sold a line six tooth Droughtmaster bullocks for 296.2c to return $1807. 

Charbray pasture steers from SJ Smith sold for 313.2c to return $1513.  J&J Seppanen sold heavy Charbray feeder steers for 342.2c to return $1352. SA Clarke sold lines of heavy Simbrah feeder steers for 340.2c to return $1715. 

Charbray feeder heifers from D Davey sold for 326.2c to return $1403.  Shamrockvale Pty sold top quality lines of Charbray pasture heifers for 334.2c to return $1297. Lines of Brangus grain assisted steers from Coyne & Tooth sold for 330.2c to return $1066. 

E Christensen sold Charbray yearling steers for 370.2c to return $862.  DN & FM Morrison sold Simmental vealer steers for 359.2c to return $862.  Lines of Droughtmaster cross vealer heifers from GJ & BJ Christensen sold for 350c to return $858.  B Brown sold lines of Angus restocker steers for 350c to return $1187.
