The Queensland Murray-Darling Committee (QMDC) and Maranoa Regional Landcare Association joined forces to deliver a packed program on the future of cropping at Muckadilla on Thursday morning.
About 20 growers turned out to hear from six speakers on a range of issues including emerging risks, building and maintaining soil organic matter and matching sorghum hybrids to management.
But the highlight of the day was a presentation on the use of drones in cropping from James McLean.
Mr McLean is a senior field technician with the Queensland Alliance for Agriculture and Food Innovation and he spoke about the potential to use drones to boost research capabilities before giving a practical demonstration.
