Strong, solid, consistent demand saw Red Brangus bulls sell to $14,000 to average $7234 at last week’s Classic Red Brangus Sale, CQLX, Gracemere.
Average values climbed by $991 per head when compared with the previous years result where 73 bulls sold to $29,000 to average $6243 ending in a 93 percent clearance.
Market topper at $14,000 was the 795kg, 22-month-old, Tannyfoil Kareem (P) (Pheasant Creek G10) offered by Gavin McKenzie, Tannyfoil Stud, Blackwater and selling to David and Maxine MacAulay, Garnant.
Tannyfoil averaged $7773 for their 11 which included the $12,000 Tannyfoil Keller (P) (Duarran Zambesi) (23-month) (803kg) selling to Garry Maguire Honeycombe, Dingo.
New South Wales prefix, Chadwick Downs operated by the Stephen and Elaine Lill and family averaged $8358 for their seven.
Top of their draft was the $12,000 Chadwick Downs Tucker (P) (Chadwick Downs Red Amarok) (35-months) (960kg) selling to the Neilson Pastoral Company, Tolmie Creek, Blackwater.
Others took the opportunity to invest in bulls for $11,000 from Chadwick Downs. These were sons of Red Valentino and Red Amarok going to the Duff and Redline Studs.
Jack and Mim Walker, Jateebee Stud, Theodore took with them a $7375 average for eight topping at $11,500 for the 868kg, 22-month-old, Jateebee Oscar (Redline 2/096 (P)) selling to Leahy and Schick, Willbrook, Bajool.
Peter and Kristine Dingle’s, Redline Stud, Eidsvold set a strong $7534 average for their 15 topping at $11,000 on two occasions with sons of Doonside Harry and Redline Ice selling to Greg Neaton, Denison, Mackay and John Allen’s, Mawson Stud, Wondai respectively.
Redline invested in three new acquisitions for on average $7167. Stephen Duff, Duff Stud, Gympie sold eight for a $7313 average including the $10,000 Duff Kynuna (Duarran Edgewater) (18-month) (808kg) selling to Marshlands Pastoral Company, Marshlands, Murgon.
Jane Geddes, Charlevue Stud, Dingo recorded a $9500 average for her pair topping at $10,000 for the 34-month, 960kg, Charlevue Redford (P) (Charlevue Bravo) selling to Leahy and Schick, Willbrook, Bajool.
Major players in the sale were Garry Maguire Honeycombe, Dingo taking five to average $8700 while Leahy and Schick, Willbrook, Bajool ended with a trio to average $10,500.
Grant and Carly Burnham, Bonnie Doon, Monto picked up two for on average $6250 topping at $9000. Ashley Smith, Strathroy, Hughenden took three to average $4500 while the Stumer family, Dallareen, Capella paid a $4500 average for their trio.
The Lawrie family, Halton, Westwood also claimed a trio for a $7334 medium with Chris Egerton, Hanley, Barcaldine taking a pair for $5000 each.
David Dunn, Lavinia Park, St Lawrence, paid to $7000 to average $6500 for his two while the Wight family, Jellinbah, Blackwater also took a pair for a $8500 average to top at $9000.
Bill and Kay Geddes, Doonside Stud, Barmoya sold four for a $4625 average with Col Goodwin, GL Stud, Biloela taking home a $6000 average for his four including the $9000 K44 (P) (Tannyfoil Dominic (P)) to the Lawrie family, Westwood and the $7500 K33 (Redline Illawarra) selling to Hacon and Sons, Buckingham Downs Station, Boulia.
Ian and Anne Galloway, Duarran Stud, Roma invested $9000 to secure Tannyfoil Karrson (Duarran Geneva).
