THE auction of the 4185 hectare (10,342 acre) Baralaba property Avoca has been postponed to a date to be decided.
Located 33km north west of Moura on the Bears Lagoon Road, the freehold property has 1600ha of black soil brigalow country and large swamps. The balance of Avoca is described as strong forest type country running from box and coolibah flats to lighter areas of ironbark on the eastern extremity. About 800ha has been cultivated.
Avoca has a workable set of cattle yards, with a loading ramp, cattle handling and calf branding facilities. There are three equipped and one unequipped bores. Water is also sourced from the Mimosa and Conciliation creeks and swamps provide semi-permanent water in some paddocks. Other improvements include a modest four bedroom homestead, three bedroom donga, and sheds.
Avoca was to have been auctioned by Hourn and Bishop in Moura on September 29.
