Roma has no doubt produced its fair share of sporting heros and its newest star is headed back to her home town on September 10.
Women’s rugby sevens superstar turned Rio Olympic gold medalist Emilee Cherry will begin her Roma reunion with a council civic reception at the Maranoa PCYC between 8.30am and 9.30am.
From there Ms Cherry will stop in at the Roma touch grounds from 10am to 12pm to sign her highly regarded signature for fans of all ages.
Those keen to attend are urged to bring hats, shirts, balls and boots for signing.
Ms Cherry will also participate in skills sessions for junior players where her willingness to pass on skills and experience will surely be treasured by all.
A sausage sizzle and canteen will be in operation and all are welcome to share in what will be a proud moment for the region.
