THE 679,886 hectare (1.68 million acre) Queensland/Northern Territory border cattle station Manners Creek is under contract.
Located on the Plenty Highway 270km from Mount Isa and 260km from Boulia, the perpetual lease was offered with 11,000 cattle.
The property was marketed by Bruce Douglas from Ray White Rural. The buyer and contract price have not been disclosed.
The country is described as a open and semi-open gidyea country interspersed by creeks with extensive creek floodout areas. It grows Mitchell, Flinders and Buffel grasses as well as a wide range of seasonal herbage and has areas of spinifex.
Water is supplied form 37 bores supplying tanks and troughs, natural creeks and creek holes.
Improvements include a four bedroom homestead, workers quarters, sheds, airstrip and hangar.
Mr Douglas said Manners Creek was a combination of finishing and breeder country, ideally set up for an organic operation.
“There is also an opportunity to increase the carrying capacity through further water developments,” he said.
