A crowd of about 400 primary producers gathered in Brisbane’s CBD today, eager for politicians and their city cousins to hear their pleas.
Their message was simple – the proposed changes to native vegetation management laws impinge on their ability to operate their properties and meet the world’s growing food needs.
Farmers gathered at Queens Gardens, Brisbane, before marching on Parliament House.
Their battle cries echoed as they marched down George Street.
The crowd rallied to chant, “We feed you, we need you” and “Don’t Trad on me”.
The Bryant family, Mitchell, shared their thoughts on the proposed changes and their wish to leave a legacy for their children.
