Lely has released the Tulip Biga vertical mixer range after testing the units locally for the past 18 months.
With Australian conditions considered different to the rest of the world, Lely said it was “important that we enter the market with confidence knowing that the Tulip Biga is designed to suit.”
The augers are designed to process even the most difficult materials as well as the toughest round bales to achieve a quick homogeneous mix.
The Tulip Biga vertical feed mixer wagon includes a unique auger construction, heavy duty build and reduced power requirements.
The range is available in two models; the Biga 20 Maxi Twin Eco+, and the Biga 24 Maxi Twin Eco+, with a mixing capacity of 20 and 24 cubic metres respectively.
Lely has more than 7000 Tulip Biga vertical feed mixers working, with some working 22 hours a day in large dairies.
The Tulip Biga range has been constructed with high quality components, a heavy duty planetary gearbox (with a five year warranty) and an auger made from X60 steel that Lely reckons lasts longer than normal steel.
The mixer tub has been constructed with a 25 milimetre thick heavy duty bottom floor plate, and 8mm thick tub walls.
All features, including the heavy duty gearbox offer a low service maintenance and a long reliable machine life, according to Lely.
The Biga 20 is standard with a single or optional tandem axle while the Biga 24 is standard with tandem axle.
The feed mix is discharged at the front of the mixer onto a one metre wide stainless steel, hydraulically operated conveyor for left or right discharge.
An optional 1150mm foldable conveyor extension is available for both models for trough feeding.
