NEGOTIATIONS are continuing on the central Darling Downs grain property Gavonni will was passed in on a vendor bid of $3.2 million at a Ray White Rural auction in Toowoomba today.
Located 8km north of Bowenville and 35km from Dalby, the property consists of 968-hectares (2392 acres) in four titles.
The country is described as level to gently sloping brigalow, belah, box and wilga country to black to brown soils which are quick to respond to moisture. About 860ha is developed for cultivation of which 60ha is used for fodder crops. A 94ha mid-January planted crop of mungbeans is included in the sale. There is about 400ha of fallow country for winter crop.
There are two, three bedroom homes on the property, a machinery shed/workshop shed, second machinery shed, shearing shed, and cattle yards. A feature is the 1060 tonne grain storage complex which has a Vertec gas fired grain dryer. Gavonni is divided into seven main paddocks.
Marketing agent Matt Cleary said one of the real features of Gavonni is the large scale operation with its close proximity to all major feedlots and grain depots.
