BLUE skies and a gentle breeze created perfect conditions as 400 punters gathered trackside in Talwood last weekend for the annual races.
For the last two years in a row the Talwood Races have been washed out by floods so no one was complaining about the red dust being kicked up on the very dry track.
Talwood Racing Club president, Michael Pegler, said the committee put in a huge effort to repair the flood damage and bring the track back to racing standard in time for their big weekend.
He also thanked the long list of local sponsors who helped cover the repair costs and got Talwood racing again.
"We're very happy with the results. It's a good young crowd and everyone seems to like the warmer weather of our new race date which is now set for the second weekend in October every year."
