CHINCHILLA rider Shari Knudsen is still riding on a high after winning two titles - champion cut-out horse of Australia and champion lady rider - at the annual Australian Campdraft Association (ACA) national finals in St George on the weekend.
More than 300 competitors converged on St George for the annual event during which more than 1550 first runs were completed.
Shari was delighted to claim the champion cut out horse crown - sponsored by Mark Postle - in the title's first year and with her much loved D Mac Daddy gelding, Donald.
The talented combination also won the O'Brien Toyota Ladies Draft, the restricted open highest cut-out award and the horse gaining most points in first round runs of all the ACA-affiliated drafts on the St George program.
For the latter award a Ben Morrow trophy saddle, donated by Jason and Lana Russell of Newforce Livestock, St George, was presented.
To finish an unforgettable week Shari was also announced as ACA champion lady rider for 2015 and received a trophy buckle, supplied by ACA.
Drafting was fierce but Shari came from the clouds to win the rider title by the narrowest of margins - just 1.68 points - over runner-up Jess Sammon.
Shari was overwhelmed with all her prizes. She said it would be a long time until she had such an incredible week of drafting again, if ever. The weekend culminated in a presentation dinner hosted by the St George Campdraft Committee.
The committee will be donating one third of their net profit generated from hosting the ACA National Finals to the Royal Flying Doctors Queensland and CareFlight Queensland.
