Showcasing some of the best rodeo riders in Australia while vying for the national finals title and buckle in an exhilarating show of determination and strength, the 2014 National Rodeo Finals will take place November 7-8 at the Dalby Showgrounds.
The National Rodeo Council said following on from the success of last year's event, this year's finals are set to exceed expectations, with a number of new additions and some exciting trade stands on display.
"We are pleased to be bringing back our National Finals event to Dalby after the huge success of last year's finals - our first in this region (and 12th finals held overall)," National Rodeo Council of Australia chairman Pat Staines said.
"We are looking forward to showcasing the best of the best rodeo riders from around the country to the fans and spectators, with an action-packed show planned."
The event, which will consist of competitors from around the country competing for the prestigious national title and buckle will include an open bull ride, open saddle bronc ride, open bareback, steer wrestling, open team roping, rope and tie, ladies barrel race, ladies breakaway roping, junior bull ride, junior bareback ride, junior breakaway roping and junior barrel race.
"In conjunction with the rodeo event, there will also be the return of the Colt Starting Championship that will include the three-day staging of the Unique Horseman Professional Colt Starting Challenge, starting from Friday, November 7, through to Sunday, November 9, 10am to 3pm each day.
"Another event that shouldn't be missed is the Country and Western Trade Fair, which will be supported by a good number of food and drink vendors, plus there will also be entertainment for the kids."
The National Rodeo Finals gives spectators the chance to appreciate and experience some of the finest rodeo talent on display, and encourages visitors attending the event to take in the sights of Dalby and surrounding districts and make a weekend of it for the whole family - they won't be disappointed.
