THE Northern Territory is known for its characters, and Manbulloo's Guy Langhans is no exception.
He has only been in the NT for a number of months, but already he is making his mark - and it is making one on him, too.
The most recent: a broken collarbone.
Before you ask, it wasn't caused by a bull ride at the Noonamah Rodeo - though he did get a sore back from that exploit.
The real culprit? A small donkey in the yards that Mr Langhans tried riding one afternoon.
"[It was] just a bit of fun. I thought it was a good idea, but it wasn't a good idea," Mr Langhans laughed, reflecting on his fall from grace.
Originally from Talwood in south-west Queensland, Mr Langhans did some contract fencing before securing a job at Manbulloo.
He most enjoys the laid-back lifestyle and plans to return for a second year.
