DALBY and District Show Society president Frank Chiverton described the 144th annual show as a ripper.
Held on April 11 and 12, the warm weather and new attractions brought a crowd of locals to the showgrounds.
“We’ve had plenty of people commenting that this is one of the best shows in a long time,” Mr Chiverton said.
“It’s the first time we have had a strong machinery section in a number of years and we have had people travel from as far away as Victoria to compete in the sheep dog trials.
“There are also a high number of entries in the horse and cattle sections.”
Another highlight was the Dalby Young Farmers Challenge, aimed at encouraging younger generations to get involved and support their local agricultural show.
Teams competed in a series of events including whip cracking, cotton picking and a first aid challenge.
