UPDATED 5pm: A TAIWANESE national in his twenties who died in a high-impact head-on collision on Lakes Creek Road at Rockhampton last night at 6pm, is an employee of nearby Teys Australia meat processing plant.
The man who was staying at Koongal died at the scene.
The decease man’s travelling companions, the 24-year-old male driver of the car and a 23-year-old male passenger, also both Taiwanese nationals, and workers at Teys Australia, were transported to Rockhampton Hospital and are in a serious condition.
In a statement to Queensland Country Life, Teys Australia general manager of corporate affairs Tom Maguire said it was a tragic event.
“We are doing everything we can to support the families and communities involved in this accident,” Mr Maguire said.
“Our condolences go out to all involved as they are part of the Teys family, and form the Teys communities.”

Initial investigations suggest at around 6pm, a sedan travelling west along Lakes Creek Road, collided head-on with a 4WD travelling east.
A man who was a rear seat passenger of the sedan has died while the driver and front seat passenger sustained serious injuries and were taken to the Rockhampton Base Hospital in a critical condition.
The Forensic Crash Unit will investigate the incident.
