A MAN in his 60s has been airlifted to hospital after suffering serious injuries chasing stock on a quad bike.
The cattleman was injured trying to chase down a beast that had broken away from the herd. He had been working cattle with his son on quad bikes north of Roma, in Queensland's west.
The CareFlight helicopter was called to attend the crash about 5.30pm.
Crew members airlifted him to hospital and believed he broke his collarbone and suffered potentially severe chest injuries after his quad bike rolled.
The specialist medical crew on board and Queensland Ambulance Service on scene spent more than 40 minutes stabilising him before he was flown to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition for further treatment.
