Michelle grew up on a sheep and cattle station at Bollon in south west Queensland, went to boarding school in Toowoomba and finished year 12 at The Glennie School.
She works for Elders Insurance as a sales representative, specialising in farm and crop insurance and she also writes a Next Gen in Ag column.
She has a Diploma of Agriculture and Agribusiness Management, and is studying externally to complete a Bachelor of Agribusiness, majoring in rural science.
Michelle hopes to one day own and run her own business within the agricultural industry and wants to continue to bridge the gap between urban and rural communities.
She enjoys playing netball and polocrosse as well as being a water skiing enthusiast and taking part in all manner of water sports at the Goondiwindi water park.
Michelle also enjoys country races, travelling overseas, rugby and cricket.
Q: What inspires you?
A: Women who are involved and making a difference to agriculture and our rural communities.
Q: What do you see yourself doing in five years?
A: I would like to be settled in the Goondiwindi area, running my own business, completing my degree and having travelled more.
Q: What's your main rule in life?
A: "You have the capacity to make change."
Q: What are you looking forward to the most during the Showgirl Awards State Final at the Ekka?
A: The opportunity to meet other like-minded young women, as well as leaders of the show movement and the rural industry, as a representative of our region.
