The livestock transport industry wants increased flexibility in working times.
THE livestock transport industry is seeking to have fatigue management and work hours made more flexible to recognise the specific challenges of the livestock industry.
The Livestock and Rural Transporters Association of Queensland forum in Brisbane heard there is a need to adopt at a 12 day cycle involving six hours of consecutive rest. The time taken to load and unload livestock was also a major issue as it was included in driving hours.
