Key features of the $11.5 million upgrade of the Dalby police station have been revealed.
With construction due to start before July, Minister for Police Mark Ryan joined Superintendent Garrath Channells and Queensland Police Union president Ian Leavers yesterday to provide more detail on the major project.
The station will be completely refurbished, with a new building to be built beside the current station and linked together.
The works will include the development of a major incident room, training rooms and upgrades to the watch house.
Additional space will also be developed to house police personnel and frontline support staff.
The upgrade is part of the state government's $300 million five-year police infrastructure pipeline, which aims to deliver an extra 2025 police across Queensland - 150 officers for each policing region.

Minister Ryan said the station redevelopment would not only improve facilities for police in the region, but also for the community.
"The new facilities will support what is the biggest investment in police personnel in 30 years ...," Mr Ryan said.
"With that level of investment in personnel, it's important that we also invest in the infrastructure our world-class police service needs to keep the community safe."
Superintendent Channells said the redevelopment would ensure an enhanced service from the Queensland Police Service to the south west district.
Mr Leavers said ensuring police had modern facilities was critical and something the union had advocated for.
"This is great news for police in Dalby and the south west district," Mr Leavers said.
The project is in the detailed design phase, with construction starting this financial year, weather permitting.
