The devine Malua Tilly Devine leaves a lasting $114,000 impression at Dalby ASH

New records for mares were recorded when they sold for $110,000 and $114,000 respectively breaking all the previous records.

Topping the sale at $114,000 was the 11 year old brown/black mare Malua Tilly Devine, a daughter of Hazelwood Conman from Wildrift Ambition, offered by Debbie Gesler of Pittsworth and bought by Evan and Kim Acton, Millungerera, Julia Creek.

Auctioneer, Paton Fitzsimmons, opened the bidding at $20,000 and jumped up in increments of $10,000, before dropping back to $5000, then finally, rises of $2000 around the ring, before the new record was written.

Evan and Kim Acton were keen to secure some of the Heritage bloodlines of Hazelwood Conman (sire's side) and Luckenough Destiny (dam's side), as they had secured these bloodlines in the past .

"It was an opportunity to purchase a quality novice mare with breeding ability," Mr Acton said.

"We will campaign her and head down to Warwick Gold Cup with her next year, where I will campaign her, while Kim will nominate her for the Ladies Draft."

Second top price mare was Royalle Cygnificant offered by Ginni Woodall and Hugh Simpson of St George, who sold for $110,000.

The eight year old bay mare was bought by Maree Duncombe and Jye Banks of Connondale.

Mr Bank said Cygnificant was the type of horse his partner Maree liked, plus she was ready to be campaigned and then a great breeding proposition at the end of her career.

Royalle Cygnificant was bred by Amanda McLennan Dehnert and husband Paul Dehnert and they sold her as a yearling.

The top priced gelding Spins Mystic offered by Joel and Belinda Fleming, Duri, NSW an sold for $32, 000 was bought by Mark Storey, Walkerston.

Ray White Rural Dalby's David Felsch said the first session of the sale had been nothing short of exceptional, after what has been a particularly trying week with the significant rainfall.

Overall 86 horses were offered and 79 sold representing 92 per cent clearance to average $18,696.

The breakdown included 35 mares selling to average $24,600; and 44 geldings selling to average $14,000.

The 47^th Dalby Australian Stock Horse will continue on Sunday morning from 7am.
