Charters Towers Combined Agents yarded a total of 530 prime cattle on Wednesday.
The cattle consisted of 150 bullocks, 55 heifers, 284 cows and 41 bulls.
Cattle comprised of fewer numbers with the result of recent rainfall.
With only prime cattle on offer, the market remained firm with all types selling similarly to last week's rates.
The yarding was drawn from Mt Isa, Richmond, Hughenden, Mt Garnet, local and coastal areas.
Bullocks topped at 488.2c/kg, sold on a/c KI and JR Middleton, Warwombie, Hughenden, that weighed 517kg to return $2524 a head.
Best priced trade heifers were presented on a/c MD and LJ Naughton, Ingham, which that sold for 400c/kg and weighed 449kg to return $1795 a head.
The top pen of cows were sold by Terry Pastoral Pty Ltd, Bay Downs, Mourilyan, for 398.2c/kg, weighing 543kg to return $2162 a head.
Bulls sold on a/c Rob Flute, Chatfield, Richmond, topped at 380.2c/kg and weighed 845kg to return $3212 a head.
Prime quotes:
Steers and bullocks under 500kg sold to 494c and averaged 462c, and those over 500kg topped at 488c to average 452c.
Heifers up to 540kg sold to 400c and averaged 390c.
Cows under 400kg made 382c and averaged 352c, while cows over 400kg reached 398c, averaging 380c.
Bulls under 450kg made 474c and averaged 402c, while bulls over 450kg reached 380c to average 360c.
