Welcome rain over large parts of Queensland and NSW in the last week drove the cattle market to new highs as records continue to be broken.
Cattle were sourced from Westmar, Eidsvold, Manumbar, Beaudesert, Conondale, Linville, Coominya, and all local areas.
Strong demand from western and southern buyers with increased local interest saw strong competition for all descriptions.
Geoffrey Cowan, Emu Creek, sold pens of four-tooth Brangus bullocks bred by Darcy Pratten, Kilcoy, for $3040, $3000 and $2900. K and S Spierling sold Santa feeder steers for $2220 and $2210/hd. O'Briens Pastoral Co, Bryden sold light Charbray feeder bullocks for $2200 and $2190/hd.
Ninbah Pastoral, Beaudesert, sold a quality line of trade Speckle Park cross feeder steers for $2120, $2100 and $2060/hd. Tim Bourke, Derrymore, sold Charolais weaner steers 12 months old for $1980/hd. Barnes Grazing, Anduramba, sold a quality pen of 12-month-old Santa cross steers for $1990.
Andrew and Hayley Ahern, Gayndah, sold a quality line of Charbray and Brahman cross steers 10 to 12 months for $1920, $1920 and $1900/hd. Brisbane Valley Holdings, Coominya, sold Droughtmaster steers 10 months old for $1890 and $1770/hd. K and T Cook, Westmar, sold a line of Charbray and Brahman weaner steers 10 to 12 months for $1900, $1690, $1670 and $1660/hd.
